Foreign language learning is not an entirely new activity since our ancestors have already engaged in language learning since the beginning of time. However, more and more people nowadays have seen the importance of learning foreign languages for leisure, career and education purposes that is why a lot of foreign languages schools have been created in order to meet the demand of language learners.

The number of foreign language schools in the world is growing and language learners might have a hard time in choosing the one that will cater to their language learning needs. The following are some tip to consider in choosing a foreign language school:

School size matters. The size of a foreign language school will matter a lot to language learners and how they will learn their target language. Some learners prefer small schools while others prefer big schools.

Big language schools offer many things that small schools don’t offer such as more space, more equipment, more rooms, more teachers, more books, more students, and more language learning materials. The disadvantage though is the huge student population which may play a big part in the distribution of teachers among students.

Small language schools do not cater to too many students with the same nationality or languages that is why it is easier for teachers to handle their students and encourage them to speak their target language all the time. Small language schools are more personal and have a more relaxed atmosphere. The disadvantage however is that small schools may not have the same materials, equipment, and facilities from big language schools.

Class sizes matter. The size of a foreign language class matters a lot since it helps determine how much time is spent in the teacher’s instruction and the student’s participation.

Big classes allow sharing of more insights among students and teachers. However, teachers may have a hard time maintaining order in the class and give enough time for each student to give input.

Small sizes allow more teacher-student interaction and it helps build confidence among those students who are not used to learning in big classes. Teachers can be more aware who among the students understands the lessons better or not.

Compare language schools before you make a choice. Collect a significant number of language schools and choose the one you think will meet your language learning needs. Make a criteria list and rate each language school.

Are the prices affordable or not?

Is the school size favorable?

What are the class sizes available?

Can you get a course on the exact dates you want?

Are the number of lessons per week enough?

Are the teachers highly qualified, qualified, or not?

Is the school accredited by a language council or organization?

Does the school offer special courses?

Does the school offer certification exams?

Is the school an examination center for certification exams?

Will the school help arrange for the type of accommodation you want?

Is the school location favorable?

Does the school have a good reputation?

You can also add more criteria that you can use to compare the language schools with.

Choosing a foreign language school is essential so that you can learn what you need to learn about your target language and you can be assured that you get your money’s worth! Learn in a foreign language school and choose well!

The Spanish language is one of the most spoken languages in the world that is why more are learning it in order to communicate with more people.

<img src="http://i27.tinypic.com/qzi5cj.jpg" alt="Foreign Language School" title="Foreign Language School"/ style="float:left;margin:3px"/>Learning a foreign language in a foreign language school is one of the most interesting endeavors one can look forward to. It gives language learners the opportunity to learn their target languages and also gives them the chance to meet new people and learn new things.

Learning in a foreign language school abroad, a language learner will have the chance to visit a new place and learn about its culture, history and people. It gives a great travel opportunity and a chance to explore more things. Learning a language in a foreign language school abroad opens doors to various opportunities yet there may be a problem especially if you are on a tight budget: how are you going to fund your language education in a foreign language school?

Here are some tips you might want to try in searching for funds for your trip to a foreign language school abroad:

Search for free grants and scholarships online. The internet holds a lot of valuable information on grants and scholarships that you can avail of for your language trip abroad. Free grants and scholarships are funded by either the government or private sectors and most of them sift through numerous applicants and only award grants and scholarships to those who really deserve them. Better submit your best qualifications in order to become one of the lucky recipients of those grants and scholarships.

Local schools have funding for students for studying abroad programs. Check out your school’s student information center if they offer funding for learning languages abroad. This type of funding may be less competitive compared to those on the internet but still, you will be competing with your fellow students. School libraries are also great information hubs; you might find information for scholarships, fellowships, grants, or financial aid through the libraries’ database and pamphlets.

Community-funded financial aid. Your local community or organizations may offer financial aid for language education abroad. Cultural organizations, language associations, and other society-cased groups may help you with your language interests by helping you arrange programs with scholarships or through financial aid.

Government-funded financial aid. Most governments around the planet sponsor different kinds of financial aid from loans, to work study and grants. Be aware that some of these loans and grants can be used for studying abroad. Try applying for government funding in government offices or online.

Learn a foreign language in a foreign language school abroad through those different kinds of funding mentioned above and have a meaningful experience!

<img src="http://i40.tinypic.com/16ishzo.jpg" alt="The Worlds Oldest Foreign Language School" title="The Worlds Oldest Foreign Language School"/ style="float:right;margin:3px"/>The London School of English is considered the world’s oldest foreign language school in English. The market on overseas education is not an exception when it comes to branding, which is a strong tool in any industry. The brand name of “Spanish Education” for example, is marketed overseas with the objective of drawing thousands of students to the country each year. In line with this, the world’s oldest English school is entering the trend to go with the market of Malaysian education using its own brand as The London School of English. On the other hand, ‘Malaysian Education’ is being campaigned to more than 70 destinations globally, promoting the country as a focal point of education from primary to tertiary school levels, on top of a training program for the English language. In order to realize the 2010 goal of the government, the rate of international students shows an approximate growth around 24% per year. The figures published by the Immigration Department show that Malaysia is keeping up with the present growth rate from 2006-2008 to over 30%. In contrast, the global yearly growth rates of international students show an average of around 4% per year.

The strong brand of The London School of English is presently looking for franchise associates in Malaysia. As a matter of fact, The London School of English Group has a thriving school operating in Daegu, Korea, which started in 2004. The proposed entry reveals that students will benefit greatly from a UK based language training while also enjoy the opportunity to reside in Malaysia. This contains lower living expenses and smaller ethnic barriers, blended with an English-speaking setting where students can hone their language skills daily. Moreover, the said school’s managing director stated that the government of Malaysia is pushing to set up a strong brand of Malaysian education, thus putting the former school in good collaboration with the latter.

The London school has a track record of accomplishments since its foundation in 1912, offering potential students the best assurance of success. Also, it presents to prospective investors an ideal entry into the significant market segment.

<img src="http://i64.servimg.com/u/f64/11/74/66/71/choosi10.jpg" alt="Choosing Your Language School" title="Choosing Your Language School" / style="float:left;margin:3px"/>A good number of schools are getting better nowadays, especially where language courses are taught and deployed. That is because the number of people learning a foreign language is increasing yearly, with the demands of many career opportunities that require bilingual speaking people a pro. The knowledge of the English language especially counts the most as we know for a fact that it is indeed a universal language. Many foreign schools now provide better educational tools consistent to the better career opportunities for its students. Because of this a greater level of competition arises between educational establishments and online schools. Where a school exploits the use of adequate tools there are better chances for knowledge growth which triggers inevitable competition. But that is a matter too normal to expect in this field. A particular education with something significant equals advancement especially when not everybody is educated with or is capable. Anyway, while others choose traditional schools for their language courses, and even immersing to that country whichever suits them better, others prefer online schools. The idea of going to class without leaving homely comforts makes online learning very appealing, especially to many working individuals. The good opportunities offered by online learning grants one the chance to finish a degree possible. Now you can complete your classes without having to make major schedule changes and that is just plainly convenient.

On the other hand, traditional education argue that if students meet everyday in school, inside the four walls of a classroom and under the supervision of a teacher, the effectiveness of education is far better than with what one gets online. There will normally be lesser distraction therefore students will be more focus. There are fixed goals over mixed purposes. There is a standard place over typical spaces, and among other things. The best argument about traditional schools is that they have existed for decades. And now with online schools that are just starting to make trainings customary is something that needs still greater number of people to prove its effectiveness just as better. But then it is never a matter of HOW education is applied but the EFFECTIVENESS on how it is practiced. It is your end that will drive you with what you are trying to achieve. In the end, choosing your language school has nothing to do with choosing either traditional or online classes. What matters is knowing your objectives and focusing on your goals.

<img src="http://i44.servimg.com/u/f44/11/74/66/71/langua12.jpg" alt="In Search for the BEST Language School" title="In Search for the BEST Language School" / style="float:left;margin:3px"/>You have finally decided to learn a foreign language and your desire to be proficient in it is running to and fro across your mind. However, as your interest builds up, you still have not decided where to learn your desired target language. You go online and search for the best places and best language schools which offer “the best” language courses available in the whole world but you still can’t make up your mind since you are quite held back by the assumption that you might become a victim of deceptive advertising. So what should you do? Before you book a language course, there are some important things that you should check out so that you will not have to go through a lot of trouble when you finally start learning your preferred target foreign language.

Whether it’s one of the German sprachreisen you’ll be going to or a Spanish escuela, the following are just a few factors to be considered in selecting the sought-after “BEST” language school and course:

	* Location- If foreign language courses are available in your city or country and the credentials are good, it is a cheaper alternative to studying abroad. However, learning a language in the place where it is spoken is still the more desirable option since it will allow you to be fully immersed in the language and culture of the place.

	* Facilities- The language school you ought to pick should have useful facilities such as study rooms, libraries, computers and other special facilities. Having useful facilities in the school can help you learn your target language easier and more enjoyable.

	* Class Size- The number of students in a class should be one variable you should look up in a language school. The lesser number of students in a class is more advantageous since the teacher will be able to attend to the students’ needs adequately.

	* The Amount of Class Hours- In choosing the language course for yourself you’d better consider the number of hours you will spend in learning the language. The number of hours in language courses varies depending on which language level you belong and how long you plan to complete your course.

	* The Experience, Qualification and Nationality of the Teacher- Having an experienced and qualified language teacher can guarantee you to a certain degree that you will be successful in learning your target language. It is also of great help if the teacher is a native speaker of the target language.

	* Teaching Methods and Tools- Knowing which materials such as textbooks and methods or approaches are being applied in the language school will give you an idea how effective their programs could be.

	* The Credibility and Curriculum of the Courses and the Variety of Programs- The credibility of the language school depends a lot on their courses and programs. A variety of courses nay ensure that they are a reliable and credible institution.

	* Accreditation and Recognition- The accreditation and recognition of the language council of the country where the language is being taught can assure you to a greater percent that the school is indeed a reputable language school.

I hope the factors stated above will be helpful for you in searching for the “best” language school. Once you have chosen the language school and once you are already in it, make the most out of your time there. Have the best time of your life learning the language while you explore the beauty of the country and meet wonderful people!

Always remember that even the best language school can’t help you to be a great language learner as you can! Putting in extra effort outside of school (be it one to one English classes, language exchanges or extra grammar work), you’ll see your skills improve the most by consolidating what you learn in class…So get motivated!

And remember, you can always practise alone – online! If you are learning German, join the fun of a pokern room and chat to your fellow poker competitors. Or join a chat room about Spanish cuisine to pick up some specialist vocab there – you’ll see your quick-thinking and language skills rise at an immense rate!

But during this period, a visit to India, China and Japan will not hurt either. If you are a Spaniard in search of exotic places around the world where people believe in other divine forms, you may check out the places that I have mentioned earlier. But if you go to India, you need to have a visa if you come from Spain or any other European country or continent. Only people from Central Asia do not need a visa when going to India. Even though India is generally a Third World country, there are certain parts of it which are awe-inspiring. Be that as it may, let me say that poverty must not be shunned upon. If you are that affluent, you can even pour in some of your wealth this Christmas season to a reputable charity organization in India such as the Red Cross and achieve spiritual fulfillment and peace of mind in return.

The most immemorial tourist attraction in India is the Taj Mahal in Agra. But Agra – just like New Delhi and other congested places in India – is a very poor city. This is where you must concentrate your charities on. The Taj Mahal has long been there since the 1600s although it is already repainted in its current state. However, its magnificent domes are really original. It has impressed the world’s body in tourism and cultural preservation so much that UNESCO has declared it a World Heritage Site in 1983.

Also take note that India is one of the places in the world with the most vehicles so definitely, it is not a practical and safe ground for pedestrians. If you’re in India, you must take a taxicab or a car rental with you wherever you go. Another attractive city in India is Bangalore. Bangalore is one of the most prosperous places in India because lots of people here have some technical knowhow. That’s why the biggest tech companies in the world such as Dell and HP have established technical support centers here. But the most relaxing place to study Hindi in India this winter is in Goa. Goa is a city that has the elements of a paradise such as sandy beaches. If you want to learn a little Hindi in two weeks or so this winter in India, then there are lots of private tutors who are willing to teach you a little Hindi or so.

But if you want to go to Brazil, then learn Portuguese there. Although Portuguese can closely be learned in Portugal which is located just north of Spain at the same Iberian Peninsula, Portugal’s Mediterranean coast closely resembles that of Spain in places such as Praia da Luz. But if you really want to help the poor this Christmas season and at the same time learn Portuguese, then go to Brazil. It is across the Atlantic so brace yourself with some jet lag when going there.

But why not stick to Europe? Destinations such as Andalucia have a great climate all year round and so you could take a road trip (say using an option such as Malaga car hire) and enjoy many beautiful cities, picking up some Spanish as you go! A great option for students who may be of a limited budget! Just like portuguese, though, Spanish can be learnt outside of Spain, especially in locations throuought Latin America, you can stay in some Buenos Aires apartments and learn Spanish from the locals, for example!

LEARNING another language will make you have money in the near future. Teaching English alone as a second language is one way to become rich. It’s so easy to become a tutor of the English language. All you need to do is attend three academic semesters in learning English as a second language. The first phase is the beginner’s stage, the next one is the intermediate stage and the last one is the advanced stage.

Once you have accomplished all these, you can now become a mentor of the English language to your countrymen. You can even tour to other countries and be an English teacher. The Philippines is a country where Tagalog is the main tongue. But English is used here as a second language. That’s why there is a Filipino teacher right now who is known in China as an English teacher. That entails a lot of profits.

Yet, English is just one language that people are fascinated learning. In the Philippines, lots of Americans, Canadians, English, Irish, Australians, French, Germans, Israelis and Middle Easterners want to learn Tagalog in preparation to wed their Filipino wives here. But since the Philippines are an archipelago with very diverse dialects such as Cebuano and Maranao, there are ultimately language schools here which cater to the different dialects.

These language schools do not just offer language programs; they also serve as hospitality schools-cum-travel agencies. They organize study tours to the various places around the locales of whatever countries they are located. Take for instance, the Philippines. The language school will offer excursion programs towards Boracay and Baguio City. The trend in Indonesian language schools is to organize trips toward Bali. In Israel, the trend in language schools there is to organize trips to Haifa. Language schools are such a profitable business that bankruptcy is never heard of in this industry.

If you’re not interested to form your own language school, there are other alternatives that you can pursue. If you’re an English language teacher, you can go to Hollywood and become an English dialogue coach for other actors and actresses who do not know English that much. You are Hollywood-based but many of these productions occur in non-English speaking countries such as Morocco. In these instances, the students will be the extras in the production. Some are even the actors and actresses themselves who are all in Moroccan descent. Or maybe there is another Hollywood production that is held in Germany or China and the actors and actresses involved are all non-English speakers. So there needs to be a Hollywood dialogue coach to direct them.

There are other ingenious ways in capitalizing learning a foreign language. For instance, you are a businessman from Japan and you have interests in France. So you need to study and enroll yourself in a French language school. Just like other language courses, the French language program also involves several stages such as the beginner, the intermediate and the advanced stage. So what are you waiting for?

Think about how learning a language can give you contacts (you can get to know at least twice the number of people you could before!) and so incorporate this whilst learning the language itself – social activities which give you the chance to practise your speaking/listening/writing which you can also enjoy, it won’t seem like you’re learning! Say you organise a poker night with friends, you can speak in the target language all the way through whilst speaking in Spanish, say, playing the juegos de casino…you might see yourself becoming rich before you’ve even taken advantage of the language! It’s a fun game and certainly not a laborious way of learning and practising a language – none of the reading piles of grammar books for sure!

Learn another language today and be rich.
